Oh La la. We decided to tie some more natural wood pieces into our main living space after updating our old brown shelves we had from our first home. The new wood shelves gave it a fresh new look and so when we came across this unfinished round wood kitchen table that had great reviews, we thought for a good price why not try it out and we could always paint it later on! Our family heirloom – the oak kitchen table Joe made years ago, is safely tucked away in hopes to come out again when we finish our backyard and maybe someday put in a four seasons porch. We were excited to try a round table in our kitchen to see if it opened up flow a little as well. With all five of us constantly in the house – we are finding certain traffic patterns and things that work well and don’t, as we all continue to coexist in this space. I went for rattan chairs with the table that I think tie it all together while still giving an overall timeless look to the space. We are also loving the Studio McGee ticking striped ottoman’s from a recent Target run that match our current living room chairs and have been a great addition for family game night around the coffee table. We know those will also come in handy with birthday parties when our families are over!
