Laundry / Barn Room Reno.

Feb 9

Like any of our recent home projects, this one has stemmed from being in our home more than ever and fixating on clutter. Ha! We are working and living in here more hours and days than ever before. I am forever grateful for a warm house to call home, and am now having fun making each room a little more personalized.

I think the laundry/barn room renovation may be my favorite to date and has the biggest impact and transformation in my mind. It was definitely full of clutter, but doing the laundry in there yesterday being able to stand in the middle of the room and even fold the laundry on the bench was A-MAZ-ING!

I just love the way the new cubby unit looks with the barn clothes and I really scored at IKEA last weekend with some great metal and tin storage organizational finds to style it up {and use!}

This all began last week when after Reagan’s 7 yr old check-up I asked if she’d mind stopping at True Value with me to get a gallon of black paint for a project I had in mind. Benjamin Moore’s ‘Black Beauty’ called our name, grabbed a few paint brushes and we were in business. I put a coat on that night during milking {my specialty, when Joe comes in to find I’ve started a new project} and I painted the second coat the next day. Joe was excited once I shared with him my plan to stain the wood wall planks and nail gun them in. I made Tacos Friday night, margaritas and cutting wood – he was in for this Friday night adventure. The next day he created the wood pieces to encase the stacked washer and dryer which I was so excited to see as I thought that would really be the piece of this project that would clean up the look and I was right! His new hat we got him for his birthday came and when he put it on and bent down to tie his shoes I had to snap a quick pic because he looked so good in his new barn room!
