This week is proving to be difficult to focus on my work as the sun is shining and the holiday week always feels like the perfect summer vacation. Growing up we loved making memories up north for the Fourth of July, tubing down the Turtle river, the small town ice cream shops/mini golf, the lake life and late night campfires. With the farm and fieldwork it can be more difficult to make an up north cabin trip feasible but that doesn’t stop us from creating the Northwoods magic here. A pontoon boat rental and supper club visit for a day trip yesterday, grilling outside on the beautiful farmland for the fourth, and maybe some Sugar River time bring all the feelings back home with the people I love most. We have so much to be grateful for and are. Paoli and the smell of mowed down hay is just as magical:)
I am getting excited to think through what fun Red, White, & Blue goodies I could make to top off our cookout and seeing what Amazon could deliver by Friday;) Here is a pie I made a few years back and last year’s cheese tray.
